Senator Ita Enang, a leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that the APC has performed better since taking office in 2015 than the People's Democratic Party (PDP) did during its 16-year rule. Former presidential aide Etang argued that Nigerians should reject the PDP and all of its candidates in the general elections of 2023 and vote for the APC instead. Enang gave Akwa Ibom State as an example, claiming that the state has benefited more from the APC than the PDP and that the ruling party should be permitted to hold power past 2023. He pointed out that the advantages exist even though the PDP controls the state. According to Naija News, he said this on Saturday in Uyo at the first gathering of the Parliamentarians Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council of the APC. According to him, "President Muhammadu Buhari's APC administration has accomplished what the PDP could not do for more than 15 years of their rule in the nation."
For instance, in Akwa Ibom, President Buhari has built a $2 billion fertilizer blending plant, a $6 point 4 billion power plant, and released over N150 billion for the Federal University of Technology and the reconstruction of the Calabar-Itu-Ikot Ekpene highway. The state government has been telling the public that it is building industries for the state for seven years, but I have raw documents from the Cooperate Affairs Commission to prove that all of the industries being built are not in the name of the Akwa Ibom State or the Ministry of Finance, but rather, are in the names of private individuals. "Everyone, irrespective of the political party you belong to, should vote APC in the upcoming general elections if we are to continue the development of the country as we are witnessing today."
